Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction

Neighbour Projects (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides driveway, patio, pathway, landscaping, roofing, insulation, painting and associated property improvement services across Basingstoke and surrounding areas.
These Terms & Conditions apply to all quotations, agreements and works carried out by us. By accepting a quotation or allowing work to begin, the customer (“you”, “your”) agrees to these Terms & Conditions.

2. Quotations & Pricing

2.1 All quotations are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise.
2.2 Prices are based on the information provided at the time of quoting. If the scope of work changes or unforeseen issues arise (e.g., hidden pipework, unstable sub-base, additional excavation), additional costs may apply and will be discussed with you before proceeding.
2.3 All prices include labour, materials and waste removal unless stated otherwise.

3. Deposits & Payments

3.1 A deposit may be required before work begins. This will be clearly stated in your quotation.
3.2 The balance is payable upon completion of works, or in staged payments for larger projects.
3.3 Payment methods accepted include bank transfer or any method agreed in writing.
3.4 Invoices must be paid within 7 days of issue. Late payments may incur charges as permitted under the UK Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.

4. Scheduling & Access

4.1 Start dates are provided in good faith but may vary due to weather, material availability or other factors outside our control.
4.2 You are responsible for ensuring safe and reasonable access to the site for our team, vehicles and equipment.
4.3 Any delays caused by restricted access may result in additional charges.

5. Customer Responsibilities

5.1 You must inform us of any underground utilities, cables, drains, or structural concerns. We cannot be held responsible for damage to items not disclosed.
5.2 If planning permission or building regulations approval is required, it is your responsibility to obtain this unless agreed otherwise in writing.
5.3 Vehicles, furniture and personal belongings must be removed from the work area prior to commencement.

6. Materials & Workmanship

6.1 All materials used will be of industry-approved quality and suitable for their intended purpose.
6.2 Where specific colours, patterns or styles are chosen, slight variations may occur due to natural stone differences or manufacturing batches.
6.3 Workmanship is carried out to a high professional standard by trained personnel or approved subcontractors.

7. Changes to the Work

7.1 Any changes or additions requested by you after work has started must be agreed in writing and may affect the price and project duration.
7.2 If we identify necessary variations due to unforeseen conditions, we will notify you before proceeding.

8. Ground Conditions

8.1 While every effort is made to assess ground conditions accurately, some issues may only become visible once excavation begins.
8.2 If additional groundwork is required (e.g., deeper excavation, drainage solutions, replacing unsuitable sub-base), extra charges may apply and will be discussed with you.

9. Guarantees

9.1 Workmanship is covered by a 12-month guarantee from the completion date unless otherwise specified.
9.2 Manufacturer warranties apply to products where stated.
9.3 Guarantees do not cover:

Damage caused by misuse, lack of maintenance, accidental impact or natural ground movement.

Weather-related deterioration such as fading, moss growth or natural wear.

Damage caused by heavy vehicles where the surface is not designed for such use.

10. Completion & Handover

10.1 Upon completion, the work area will be left clean and tidy.
10.2 You will have the opportunity to inspect the work and raise any concerns before final payment.
10.3 Minor cosmetic variations or settling that do not affect structural integrity are considered normal and not grounds for withholding payment.

11. Cancellation Policy

11.1 You may cancel your agreement up to 14 days after accepting the quotation if no work has begun, in accordance with UK consumer protection laws.
11.2 If custom materials have been ordered or work has started, you may be liable for reasonable costs incurred.
11.3 We reserve the right to cancel the agreement if site conditions are unsafe or if payment terms are not met.

12. Liability

12.1 We hold full public liability insurance for all work carried out.
12.2 We are not liable for:

Pre-existing faults or structural issues.

Damage caused by third parties, pets or weather events beyond our control.

Delays caused by suppliers or extreme weather.

13. Waste Removal

13.1 Standard waste produced as part of the works will be removed unless stated otherwise.
13.2 Additional charges may apply for hazardous waste or excess volumes.

14. Photographs & Marketing

14.1 We may take before-and-after photos of your project for marketing purposes.
14.2 No personal details or identifying information will be shared.
14.3 You can request that photos of your property are not used.

15. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England & Wales. Any disputes will be handled under UK jurisdiction.
